Peanut butter slim your tummy time - recipe for homemade protein bars



Miss all the bizarre ingredients added to a commercial protein bar by making your own.  The added beauty of this is that you can customise it to your protein requirements.  

Protein bars are best eaten as a snack to manage blood sugar levels to rid cravings and also for muscle recovery after exercise.



Serving: 8 bars (click on ingredients to locate sources)

Ingredients
1 scoop (approx 30g) Body balance
150ml Water (fresh purified tap water)
Sprinkle of ground Cinnamon
200g (Optional) Dark Xylitol Chocolate  

Recipe
·         Mix ingredients together and heat till warm in a pan and grind down half a stick of cinnamon
·         Line a glass rectangular dish 23cm x 35cm with greaseproof paper
·         Pour mixture evenly into a dish and place in the fridge for 8hrs.
·         After the 8hours take out and cut into blocks.

Optional Chocolate coating

·         Fill a pan 1/3 of the way with water and bring to the boil
·         Place a bowl above resting on the sides of the pan so it does not fall into the water
·         Break chocolate up into cubes and heat above water
·         Once melted, dip protein blocks into chocolate, fully coating them and place back onto greaseproof paper and put back into fridge for a further 30mins
